Matcon commenced this project in early 2003 with a $1.6 million contract and by 2007 had negotiated and completed servicing contracts in excess of $10 million.
The majority of the work consisted of road and utility installations for single family residential development. Conditions at the site were extremely variable with weak fragmented bedrock along the eastern boundary, alpine meadows with peat and silty glacial tills predominant through the balance of the site.
Construction practices were constantly redefined to suit both the varying conditions of the soil and the needs of the developer. Further construction challenges had to be considered, given the site was surrounded by environmentally sensitive wetlands and fish-bearing streams.
Even under these conditions, Matcon met all of the client's objectives - on top of the added challenge of four management changes within the client's corporation. The fact that Matcon continues to meet the owner's needs today is a testament to the people we employ and the services we provide.
