The development of Eagle Mountain consisted of major infrastructure work for a 450-unit residential community, requiring the innovation of a highly skilled team.
Project Description
• Extensive drilling and blasting of native bedrock allowing for proprietary rock wall design providing dramatic retaining structures of over four stories tall
• Upgrading of existing roadways and utilities
• New construction of arterial roads and utilities
• Construction of a one million gallon reservoir fed by a two kilometre supply main and upgraded booster pump station
discreetly hidden behind a dramatic rock wall visible upon entering the site
• Preparation of school-park and commercial development sites

Matcon personnel, working as part of the development management team, provided development strategy and business planning, as well as design review and development planning input. This collaborative approach allowed the owner to achieve the best overall layout and large savings in rock handling, retaining walls and detention/retention facilities.
Through the joint effort of the developer, his consultant and Matcon's construction expertise and resources, we created the finest single family residential development in the Fraser Valley. While setting the standard for innovative design and construction practice, we remained on budget and met the owners' schedule through every phase of construction.
